Part of the Transformaciones Orgánicas series, Earth Skin explores the relationship between structure and wildness through the interaction of contrasting textures and natural fibres. Built through the accumulation of rya knots, the piece develops a dense, compact surface where soft, rounded forms meet the looser, more untamed character of esparto grass and seagrass. Through repetition, time, and the physical act of making, the work explores the tension between control and instinct, and how opposing qualities can coexist in balance.
