Reclaimed canvas and raffia

“Parloteo” translates as “chatter” — informal talk about unimportant matters.
This piece reflects the playful energy that emerged during its creation. Using a canvas as a loom, I wove raffia to explore pattern and texture, allowing the materials to interact in unexpected ways. The canvas serves as the warp, while the raffia functions as the weft, creating a dynamic surface where structure and materiality engage in dialogue. Parloteo continues the Conversaciones series’ exploration of form, texture, and the voice of the materials themselves.
