“Runruneo” translates as “whir” — the low, continuous sound of something rapidly rotating or moving to and fro.
This smaller piece in the Conversaciones series explores texture, volume, and pattern. I separated the fibre of the esparto grass rope to create a rich, tactile surface, which I then incorporated into a canvas structure. The work forms rectangles while maintaining an organic, volumetric quality, highlighting the natural characteristics of the material. The arrangement and interplay of the fibres create rhythm and depth, continuing the dialogue with materials that defines the series.
